What is TCP/IP and its difference with OSI Model

Transmission control protocol / Internetworking Protocol (TCP/IP) that define how all transmission are exchanged across the internet. This project is established by Advanced Research Project Agency (ARPA) in 1960. Before it was a known as (ARPANET) Arpa-netwrok. ARPANET developed and called TCP/IP. TCP/IP developed before OSI reference Model. It is also called DOD Model (Department of Defence ).

OSI Reference Model

All networks are use in today are based on concept of Open System Interconnection (OSI) Reference Model developed in 1984 by ISO (International Organization of Standards). Instead, ISO decided to established a common reference model for which other could then develop detailed interfaces, which in turn could become standards.
